Why Does Air-to-Cloth Ratio Matter?
A suitable air-to-cloth ratio helps maintain stable pressure drop, effective filter cleaning, and reasonable filter life. If the ratio is too high, the filters may become overloaded, pressure drop may increase, and filter life may be shortened.
Basic Calculation
Air-to-cloth ratio is calculated by dividing the system airflow by the total effective filter area.
Air-to-Cloth Ratio = Airflow ÷ Total Filter Area
The appropriate value depends on the dust characteristics, filter media, cleaning method, operating temperature, and required emission performance.
